About the Painting
Oblivious to the mighty natural forces of the sun, volcanoes , ocean tides as well as spiritual presence of the Mayan culture, this little turtle goes about it’s daily life. As I ventured through this Mayan ruins of Chichén Itzá, I came across these rattle snakes totems. Fascinated by how they seemed to protect the spirituality of this ancient city, I knew then I had to paint them.
