THE EMERGING IMAGE - Step 2

The sharpness in the line of ink drawing helps

 establish a more specific image while working out the details. (Often in other works a line drawing will precede and oil sketch.) Most of the concern was devoted to the rock formation in the center of the image. Also note the addition of the pool of water at the bottom and the tree on the rock. At this point I felt confident that the sketching was leading to a worthwhile image and that those details would emerge as I painted the final image on the wood panel. At this point I have wandered enough and i'am committed to the course of developing this image.
